This paper compares carbon pricing policies in Australia, the UK and Canada and examines how they affect renewable energy innovation. It empirically analyzes how differences in policy design shape innovation incentives, suggesting that price levels and policy stability matter. The findings offer lessons for carbon pricing design in Japan and elsewhere.
