English

Ceres Endura™ reversible solid oxide stacks switch between fuel-cell and co-electrolysis modes, raising capacity factor and shortening payback. Running on biogas in fuel-cell mode and co-electrolyzing waste CO2 and steam enables reversible carbon capture, producing e-methane inside the stack. Hundreds of real-world mode cycles demonstrate dynamic robustness, validated at 100 kW-class (FC) and 250 kW-class (co-electrolysis) system scale, with data feeding a multiphysics model for prediction and optimization.

📝 gxceed 編集解説 — Why this matters

In the global GX context

Globally, reversible solid oxide systems sit at the intersection of CCUS, hydrogen, and e-fuels, offering a pathway to monetize captured CO2 and balance grids. This adds engineering evidence to transition-finance narratives around hard-to-abate decarbonization and could inform ISSB/CSRD disclosures on credible Scope 1 abatement technologies.

📄 Abstract(原文)

Ceres Endura™ technology possesses inherent capability to switch between fuel cell and electrolysis operating mode. Reversible operation enables a high capacity-factor from solid oxide systems maximizing profitability from a single system leading to shorter payback period, balancing power generation and energy storage for grid balancing. Operating on biogas in fuel cell mode, and co-electrolyzing waste CO2 and steam in electrolysis mode allows for a reversible carbon capture system. Experimental testing results from testing the Ceres Endura™ stack in reversible operation in fuel cell and co-electrolysis mode demonstrate the dynamic performance and robustness over hundreds of real-world mode cycles. This builds on the already demonstrated load cycling, thermal cycling and redox cycling robustness of the technology. Reversible operation in this way has been demonstrated at stack to 100 kW class (Fuel Cell) / 250 kW class (Co-Electrolysis) system scale. Experimental testing results from testing the Ceres Endura™ stack demonstrate its intrinsically high CH4 selectivity and CO2 conversion, producing e-methane inside the stack. Catalytic and electrochemical performance and robustness are demonstrated across a large range of conditions such as voltage, temperature, steam utilization, and steam-to-CO2 ratio. The experimental data has been incorporated into a co-electrolysis Multiphysics model to allow for predictive capability and optimization, delivering insights beyond the test data for understanding behavior and trends.
