English

A thesis analyzing how climate change affects irrigated agriculture in Uzbekistan's Khorezm region. Rising temperatures, shifting precipitation, and growing water demand impact cotton, grain, rice, and vegetable productivity, soil salinity, and irrigation efficiency. It proposes measures for efficient water use, improved agrotechnology, and stronger climate adaptation.

In the global GX context

Adds a Central Asian, water-scarce irrigated-agriculture case to the global adaptation literature, relevant to climate-risk assessment and adaptation finance but not to core disclosure frameworks like ISSB or CSRD.

📄 Abstract(原文)

This thesis analyzes the impact of climate change on agriculture in the Khorezm region. The region's arid continental climate, high temperatures, changes in precipitation, increased water demand during the growing season, and water resource shortages directly affect the sustainability of agricultural production. Especially in the conditions of Khorezm, which is highly dependent on irrigated agriculture, climate change is an important factor affecting the productivity of cotton, grain, rice, vegetable and melon crops, soil salinity, and the efficiency of irrigation systems. The study develops proposals to reduce the negative impacts of climate change on agriculture, effectively use water, improve agrotechnology, and strengthen climate adaptation measures.
